Aaj Rose-Day jo aaya hai :)
And then I saw the girl shrieking, "Nahiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii !"
"What, what?", the guy was flabbergasted.
"A red rose ?"
"Yeah, why ? "
"I was hoping to give you first."
I smiled as I saw the couple leaving. My Rose Day already had got the filmy start.
That was just a little after 1pm, about the time when the college was opening its gates. To the horde of students waiting eagerly outside. As they embarked on to enter Ramnarain Ruia college. The college which on the 24th September, celebrated the spirit of love and friendship.
For your lovely ears, Ruia is the only college in Mumbai which celebrates Rose Day in such a unique, festive and grand manner.
The Principal in his address had wished all present there a Happy Rose Day. Everyone ensured it was, as blushing girls mingled with gutsy guys.In the most rosy day of the year, love was sure present in the air. The lucky guy today aka the Rose King was Sanket Palsule and the beautiful dame who garnered the most rose cards was Pooja Nair, this year's Rose Queen. The envy of all, they were gifted with some handsome vouchers.
Apart from the all-consuming love, a lot of other stuff was at the college today. From just yummy cakes, to Rose Day badges for charity work, was all out there. Not to mention the stalls selling bouquets of flowers. As my friend put it, it was for 'last minute love'. Whatever, love is love anyhow.
As evening approached, the DJ intensified the beats and made sure the Fire was kept Burning on the dance floor. People were tired but only superficially. One awesome track and the people got back to grooving. The music took the backseat as the crowd started echoing the tracks.People screamed their hearts out and danced till the last.
My day started with a love saga. And ended with my own.
A rose can do a lot. As I found out today.
Awesome fun today.
