2nd day at Samanvay. Reporting from Ruia.
Reconquista
! The festival of ‘Philosophy department’ began with a wonderful speech by Mr.
Raj Kumar, an ex-ruiate who was a part of the philosophy department in his
college days. “Cycle Chalao” – an award
winning and world recognized brand is his creation. While addressing the
students he said “It is my pleasure to be here, at my very own college. It
gives me a very warm feeling, just like my home.” “Never fall into BRIBES” was
a special message given by him.
Our very own Mrs. Vatsala Pai Ma’am, Head of
the department of Philosophy was quoted as saying, “I am happy the way all my
students have managed to put up this show. Samanvay is an excellent platform as
students from all the streams are coming up and participating in large numbers.”
The inauguration was followed by a couple of quiz contests as well as many
interesting events.
The second
day of “Perception” the festival of Psychology department was again a grand
affair. “SEE THE UNSEEN” was the motto of this fest on its second day.
It started with a brilliant and interactive
session by Mrs. Sangeeta Rao, the H.O.D of psychology. It focused on the
Gestalt Theory. Then they screened “Raat Aur Din”- a critically acclaimed movie,
which was appreciated by all. Vishakha, a student doing her majors in
psychology said, “It was a wonderful experience, the kind of response that we
got today was unexpected. It nice to see, especially the Junior college
students participating.”
2nd day of Samanvay saw the students
from the Chemistry Department shouting, “CHEMISTRY IS NOT BORING…. ITS SCORING”
yeah you heard it right, the chemistry department with it festival called
‘Chemfest’ made sure that their audience didn’t get bored by arranging a number
of electrifying events.
'Choose your Joker' was one event not to miss. The host jovially explained the
rules of what seemed like a very interesting game, having 5 rounds. The rounds
were visuals, crossword puzzles, rapid fire etc. The contestants were kept on
their toes as the judges kept shooting questions at them. Reactions, equations,
and elements it all seemed to be drilled into my mind. The chemfest helped
students in changing their mindset towards chemistry. They walked out liking
the subject a lot more than before.
For the time being, your journalist signs
off!! And promises much more interesting reports on tomorrow’s action that will
take place in SAMANVAY!!
